ALLUSIONS
An allusion is an important and commonplace literary device that is an indirect, implicit reference to historical and current events and figures, mythological and Biblical events and figures, to other literary and artistic works and the like. Allusions are often used to summarize broad, complex ideas or emotions with a single, powerful image. Allusions allow the reader to understand a difficult concept by relating it to an already familiar story.
